Ledûb cares!
At Ledûb, we're not just passionate about making beautiful shirts; we also strive to make a positive impact. That's why we're proud to support Yannick Paredis, an inspiring young man from Budel with a passion for table tennis. Yannick is currently training hard for the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, and if that doesn't work out, he's setting his sights on the 2028 Games in Los Angeles.
Yannick has a condition called generalized dystonia, a neurological disorder where muscle tension is often too high, leading to uncontrollable movements. He has been dealing with this since he was five years old, and at eight, he received a brain stimulator that significantly alleviated his symptoms.
Thanks to this treatment, Yannick has been able to set a new goal: competing in the Paralympic Games.
Table tennis entered his life through his father, who is an avid player. Yannick quickly showed talent and began playing competitively. Another table tennis player, who had participated in the Paralympic Games herself, introduced him to the world of para table tennis. This turned out to be a perfect fit, and now Yannick competes at an international level.
Para table tennis is designed for people with physical and/or intellectual disabilities, helping them stay active and enjoy the competition. For people with disabilities, sports are crucial for both physical and mental well-being.
